Role Summary / Purpose:

GE Internship | Embedded Systems

Based in GE Power Conversion Chennai, this internship opportunity focuses on Embedded Systems Development and Testing. If you have a strong technical foundation in Embedded Controllers, Drives, and Power Systems, and enjoy hands-on work, this role is for you. As an intern, you will contribute to upgrading embedded controllers, validating platforms, and developing software for cutting-edge products.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Participate in upgrading Embedded controllers and validating embedded controls platforms.
  • Contribute to upgrading testing processes for libraries, drivers, and RTOS.
  • Design, develop, and validate control architectures, focusing on FPGAs and embedded processors.

Job Description: Essential Responsibilities:

As an Intern in Embedded Systems Development and Testing, you will:

  • Develop and test embedded software and firmware with a defined scope.
  • Collaborate with Control and Testing Engineers in the field of embedded controllers.
  • Upgrade testing for embedded RTOS, libraries, drivers, and related packages.
  • Execute subsystem validation test plans through literature survey.
  • Develop embedded applications using C/C++ and function block diagrams.
  • Work closely with mentors to provide technical clarification and documentation support.
  • Apply training to develop new concepts, proposal formulations, and advanced automation solutions.
  • Provide technical support to the project team and maintain a strong safety mindset.
  • Drive control and validation testing concepts with a focus on safety.
  • Demonstrate technical aptitude, effective communication skills, and leadership qualities.

Qualifications/Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical/Electronic Engineering/Embedded Systems.
  • 0 – 1 years of relevant experience.
  • Knowledge in C/C++, Python, Embedded Systems, FPGA, Digital Design.

Desired Characteristics:

  • Understanding of control systems, motors, inverters, and electrical drives.
  • Familiarity with microprocessors/microcontrollers.
  • Related knowledge in Embedded Systems or equivalent through internship or coursework.
  • Strong prioritizing, time management, and multitasking skills.
  • Willingness to learn, be self-motivated, creative, and a team player.
  • Capable of working in a multi-disciplined international team with good organizational skills.
  • Analytical and critical thinking with strong debugging and problem-solving skills.
